Acne Complex
Dermatologists recommend
that an acne complex can be treated early to maximize effectiveness as well as help prevent
scarring. To treat these severely inflamed cysts
and prevent scarring, dermatologists may inject such cysts with a much-diluted
corticosteroid. Retinoids work to unclog pores
and prevent whiteheads and blackheads from forming. Nature's Cure acne medication takes an inside-outside
approach to treat existing acne and prevent future breakouts. In fact, there's no link between sun exposure and acne
prevention, but the sun's rays can cause premature aging and skin cancer.
Over the counter acne
medications are formulated to cure the zits that you have now, not to prevent zits from
happening in the first place. The use of daily
alphahydroxyacids will help prevent small flare-ups after a course of Accutane.
However, prevention is
much more effective than treatment, and most acne treatment is aimed at stopping the
development of cystic acne. Since clogged pores
can lead to the start of new pimples, this is an important goal of any preventative
regimen.
If you have more severe skin problems, including severe acne, a dermatologist can offer stronger
solutions such as antibiotic treatments, in-office laser treatments and other anti-acne solutions
available only under a doctor’s care.
For moderate to severe acne, prescription oral antibiotics may be needed to reduce bacteria and
fight inflammation.
You may need to take these antibiotics for months, and you may need to use them in combination
with topical products. For deep cysts, antibiotics
may not be enough. It is usually given after other
acne medicines or antibiotics have been tried without successful treatment of
symptoms.
Oral antibiotics are thought to help control acne by curbing the growth of bacteria and reducing
inflammation. Prolonged treatment with oral
antibiotics may be necessary to achieve the desired results. As with many other types of bacterial infections, doctors are
finding that over time, the bacteria that are associated with acne are becoming resistant to
treatment with certain antibiotics.
For mild inflammatory acne (papules and a bit of pustules) a topical antibiotic such as Eryderm,
Ilotycin, Benzamycine, Zynaryt or clindamycin may be added for application in the
morning. Be aware though that antibiotics may make
women susceptible to yeast infections. Patients who
were first treated with an oral antibiotic and topical gel for acne were often able to maintain
their clearer skin by using topical agents alone.
The pore becomes blocked and causes lesions commonly known as pimples. While many women feel that eating chocolate or greasy foods
causes acne, experts have not found a link between the diet and acne. Acne is a disorder that causes outbreaks of skin lesions
commonly called pimples.
