Next, knowing that the cause of acne is oil build-up beneath clogged pores, do all you can to prevent both the build-up oil and clogged pores.  In plain English, Beta-Hydroxy (Salicylic Acid) gets deep into the skins pores and exfoliates your dead skin cells, and this helps clear out the trapped oil to prevent bacteria from feasting on this excess skin and oil, which eventually develops into your red irritated infections.
